Caliente, Nevada. Originally named Calientes, Caliente was named for the hot springs in the area. Natural mineral baths are available year round. Caliente is a full service community, offering good food, lodging, work, and recreation activities.
Caliente is the only incorporated community in Lincoln County and is located in southeastern Nevada 155 miles north of Las Vegas. With an area of 1022 acres, it has a population of just over 1,000 residents.
Caliente was one of the favorite writing spots for western novelist Zane Grey. It was also where the famed "Robbers Roost", hideout for outlaws like Butch Cassidy, is located. Today Caliente attracts new residents due to its friendly quiet hometown appeal.
