Las Vegas northEAST suburbs

Northeast suburbs of Las Vegas are found to the east of U.S. Hwy 95 and I-15. This area includes Nellis Air Force Base. The Base takes up a significant amount of the region. Several young and old military families populate this area.

There are many residential areas especially on Sunrise Mountain. Sunrise Mountain descends downward into the beautiful Las Vegas Valley.

Residents may enjoy more physical activities if they live in this area. Cycling, sailing, hiking, and a variety of other outdoor sports attract residents and visitors alike to Northeast Las Vegas.

Though primarily in the east, nearby Lake Las Vegas is a popular attraction in the vicinity of the suburb.

Business

• This area is home to the Las Vegas Speedway. The nearby industrial park allows for young racers to build their dream cars, renovate current cars, and allows race fans to get a hands on approach to racing.

Regional Health Care

• Lake Mead Hospital is located at 1409 East Lake Blvd. in Northeast Nevada. It has been in the community for quite some time. It was first introduced in 1959. At the time, Las Vegas was only a fraction of the size it is now (less than 18,000). When Lake Mead Hospital opened there was only 33 beds. Today, there are over 198 beds, and at least 800 different specialists that work at or through the hospital. In the early 1990's the hospital grew with the addition of another floor (to total floor) as well as a three floor hospital tower. The Hospital mostly serves North Las Vegas and the Northeast Las Vegas Communities.

*Lake Las Vegas is more located in between the South and North Eastern Sides of Las Vegas, than actually in the Northeast.
